goldenram a manufacturer of computer upgrade products, accessories and services, and maker of UpgradeDetect, which sold more than $900 million in computer upgrades since the company's inception, today announced the acquisition of Techies.com, an IT task force that will add 977,000 IT professionals to the company's already expansive service team.

Techies.com, founded as a leading recruiting and career center for high-quality technology-oriented career minded people. Techies.com once raised $97.5 million in funding and the founder sold part of the company to a spin-off of what is now known as Best Buy's Geek Squad.

"We have just created the dream-team of IT professionals," explains Chris Zomaya, president and founder of goldenram. "By adding almost one million certified IT professionals to our team, we can ensure that goldenram is first on the scene and able to assist customers with all their computer needs throughout the entire nation - often in as little as one hour."

According to an article in InformationWeek: "techies.com distinguishes itself by offering services to keep IT workers interested in the site even when they aren't actively looking for work." These 977,000 professionals will now be part of goldenram's pool of skilled and fully vetted technicians that will be able available to customers in tandem with upgrades and purchases made through the company's UpgradeDetect solution. All of GoldenRAM's technicians are certified and must pass the company's vigorous background screening. These techies will also be invited to join goldenram's team of Technology Advisors for additional income-earning potential. This Technology Advisor Program gives members a hosted Web site where they can sell goldenram's upgrades and services for unlimited earning opportunities.
